Volunteer for an event. There are many ways to support our school with your unique talents, connections, or time throughout the year (either on site at the school or on your own time in the background). On September 30th, Dr. A.R. Lord Elementary will be acknowledging Orange Shirt Day. It is the day when we honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada. Students will learn more about the history of those schools and this day is a symbolic call to action to Truth and Reconciliation. Engage with your child and discuss your thoughts and what Orange Shirt day means to you, what it means to our indigenous communities, and to Canada. April 29 at 6:30 in the Dr. AR Lord Elementary Library.
A facilitator will lead this session on child anxiety in a workshop setting that will be interactive. We are co-hosting this session with Franklin Elementary PAC. Please RSVP as soon as possible. If we do not have 25 participants we will have to cancel the event.
We have some fun events coming up as we approach the end of the school year and 2 months off of school.
